DESCRIPTION:About Vidhi Parivartan \nVidhi Parivartan is a legal platform that seeks to hone the skill sets of all the budding lawyers\, aid the law students in all possible manner by optimum utilization of resources available at their disposal and thereby empower the legal fraternity eventually. The platform aspires to undertake host of short\, medium and long-term activities and programmes for the legal community to enhance their professional\, academic and extra-academic progression. \nIt is committed for the cause of empowering especially the first-generation lawyers who face innumerable hardships in the profession. Moreover\, it aims to live up to its motto of ‘Nyaydaanam Shreshtam Daanam’ through every activity that it undertakes. \n  \nAbout the Competition \nLegal drafting is the soul of advocacy and litigation. To refine the art of structured legal writing and argument formulation\, Vidhi Parivartan is pleased to announce its 2nd National Legal Drafting Competition\, 2026. This initiative is aimed at providing a platform for budding and experienced legal professionals to demonstrate their drafting prowess in civil\, criminal\, constitutional and matrimonial domains. \n  \nEligibility \n\nOpen to all.\nAll  Students (UG & PG)\, Advocates (Enrolled with Bar Council)\, Academicians (Law Teachers\, Researchers) are eligible to participate in this competition.\nOnly one submission per author(s) will be accepted. Multiple or incomplete submissions will lead to disqualification.\n\n  \nDrafting Category Options (Choose Any One) \n\n Civil Matter Drafting\n\nProposition:\nM/s Arora Furnishings Pvt. Ltd.\, a company based in Gurugram\, entered into a contract dated 15 January 2026 with Mr. Rohan Malhotra\, proprietor of Malhotra Interiors\, Panipat\, for the supply of customized furniture worth Rs.18\,50\,000. \nAs per the agreement\, 50% advance was paid on 20 January 2026\, and the remaining amount was to be paid within 15 days of delivery. The goods were delivered on 10 February 2026\, and were duly accepted without any objection. \nHowever\, despite repeated reminders and a legal notice dated 5 March 2026\, Mr. Malhotra failed to pay the balance Rs. 9\,25\,000. He has also avoided communication and allegedly started selling the furniture to third parties. \nThe plaintiff claims that the defendant has deliberately breached the contract and is liable to pay the outstanding amount along with interest and damages. \nTask: Draft a plaint on behalf of M/s Arora Furnishings Pvt. Ltd. before the appropriate civil court. \n\n Criminal Matter Drafting\n\nProposition:\nAn FIR dated 12 March 2026 was registered at Sector 29 Police Station\, Gurugram\, under Sections 406 and 420 IPC against Ms. Kavya Bansal\, a financial consultant. \nThe complainant\, Mr. Aman Khurana\, alleged that Ms. Bansal induced him to invest Rs. 25\,00\,000 in a fake real estate scheme promising high returns. It is alleged that the accused misappropriated the funds and failed to return the money. \nMs. Bansal contends that the transaction was purely civil in nature\, arising out of a failed investment\, and that she has already returned Rs. 10\,00\,000. She was arrested on 20 March 2026 and has been in judicial custody since then. \nShe has no prior criminal record and undertakes to cooperate with the investigation. \nTask: Draft a regular bail application on behalf of Ms. Kavya Bansal before the competent court. \n\nConstitutional Matter Drafting\n\nProposition:\nMr. Aditya Verma\, a final-year law student at National Law University\, Delhi\, was debarred from appearing in his final semester examinations by the university administration on 25 February 2026\, citing shortage of attendance. \nMr. Verma contends that his attendance shortage was due to his participation in a national moot court competition and medical emergencies\, for which prior intimation and documents were submitted. \nDespite submitting representations on 28 February 2026 and 5 March 2026\, the university authorities rejected his request without granting him a hearing. \nHe claims that the action of the university is arbitrary\, violative of principles of natural justice\, and infringes his fundamental rights under Articles 14 and 21 of the Constitution. \nTask: Draft a writ petition under Article 226 of the Constitution before the High Court seeking appropriate reliefs. \n4. Matrimonial Matter Drafting \nProposition:\nMrs. Neha Sharma and Mr. Vikram Sharma were married on 12 December 2021 in Delhi as per Hindu rites and ceremonies. After marriage\, they resided together in Faridabad. \nMrs. Sharma alleges that soon after marriage\, Mr. Sharma and his family started subjecting her to mental cruelty\, including constant taunts for dowry and pressuring her to bring Rs.10\,00\,000 from her parents. \nIt is further alleged that on 18 August 2024\, Mr. Sharma physically assaulted her\, forcing her to leave the matrimonial home.
