ABOUT VIDHI PARIVARTAN

Vidhi Parivartan is a legal platform that seeks to hone the skill sets of all the budding lawyers, aid the law students in all possible manner by optimum utilization of resources available at their disposal and thereby empower the legal fraternity eventually. The platform aspires to undertake host of short, medium and long-term activities and programmes for the legal community to enhance their professional, academic, extra-academic progression.

It’s committed for the cause of empowering especially the first-generation lawyers who face innumerable hardships in the profession. Moreover, it aims to live up to its motto of ‘Nyaydaanam Shreshtam Daanam’ through every activity that it undertakes.

ABOUT THE WEBINAR

Supreme Court as the Apex Court of the Indian Judiciary is the highest authority to uphold the Constitution of India, to protect the rights and liberties of the citizens and to uphold the values of rule of law. Hence, it is known as the Guardian of our Constitution.

The Supreme Court has been assigned a very significant role in the Indian political system and is the final interpreter of the Constitution. Under the Constitution of India, the Supreme Court is provided with the scope of judicial review. The judicial review allows the Supreme Court to safeguard fundamental rights and struck down legislations which are violative of Constitutional provisions. Apart from this, there are other aspects wherein the Supreme Court is the final interpreter, as in cases of fundamental rights, constitutional values and so on.

We at Vidhi Parivartan, are going to discuss about the “Role of Supreme Court in Indian Constitution”. Make sure to join in for an informative session.

GUEST SPEAKER

Mr. Ashish Goel, Advocate, Supreme Court of India
Mr. Ashish Goel is a lawyer practicing in Indian courts. He graduated in law from National University of Juridical Sciences (NUJS) and holds a LL.M from King’s College London.

Before going independent, he worked at a law firm in London and New Delhi advising multinationals on their Indian in-bound business. He also briefly worked in the Law Chambers of a former Union Law Minister on matters before the Indian Supreme Court and the Delhi High Court.
