Ms. Bansal contends that the transaction was purely civil in nature, arising out of a failed investment, and that she has already returned Rs. 10,00,000. She was arrested on 20 March 2026Â and has been in judicial custody since then.

Despite submitting representations on 28 February 2026 and 5 March 2026, the university authorities rejected his request without granting him a hearing.
