A law officer is a public official employed to administer or advise in legal matters. The main responsibility of a law officer is to monitor all the legal affairs within the organisation. They handle both internal and external legal concerns and are tasked with doing everything in their power to keep the organisation out of legal trouble.One can work as a law officer at various institutions including Banks, Public Sector Undertakings (PSUâs), Army, Navy, Airforce, Railway, etc. In order to be an eligible candidate for the post of a law officer one must hold an LLB degree (five years course after 10+2 examination or three years after graduation) from a college recognized by the Bar Council of India. In addition, candidates should hold a minimum of 55% aggregate marks in LLB Degree and should be eligible for registration with the Bar Council of India/State.
