About Vidhi Parivartan

Vidhi Parivartan is a legal platform that seeks to hone the skill sets of all the budding lawyers, aid the law students in all possible manner by optimum utilization of resources available at their disposal and thereby empower the legal fraternity eventually. The platform aspires to undertake host of short, medium and long-term activities and programmes for the legal community to enhance their professional, academic and extra-academic progression.

It is committed for the cause of empowering especially the first-generation lawyers who face innumerable hardships in the profession. Moreover, it aims to live up to its motto of ‘Nyaydaanam Shreshtam Daanam’ through every activity that it undertakes.

About the Competition

Legal drafting is the soul of advocacy and litigation. To refine the art of structured legal writing and argument formulation, Vidhi Parivartan is pleased to announce the National Legal Drafting Competition, 2025. This initiative is aimed at providing a platform for budding and experienced legal professionals to demonstrate their drafting prowess in civil, criminal, and matrimonial domains.

Eligibility

• Open to all.
• All Law Students (UG & PG), Advocates (Enrolled with Bar Council), Academicians (Law Teachers, Researchers) are eligible to participate in this competition.
• Only one submission per author(s) will be accepted. Multiple or incomplete submissions will lead to disqualification.

Drafting Category Options (Choose Any One)

1. Civil Matter Drafting

Proposition:
A property dispute arises where the plaintiff alleges illegal possession and encroachment over his ancestral land by the defendant, along with damage to property and mental harassment.

Task: Draft a Plaint from the plaintiff’s side.

2. Criminal Matter Drafting

Proposition:
A person alleges criminal intimidation, defamation, and physical assault by a group of individuals due to a social media post criticizing a political leader.

Task: Draft a Criminal Complaint to be filed before the Magistrate under the CrPC.

3. Matrimonial Matter Drafting

Proposition:
A woman has filed a case under Section 13 of the Hindu Marriage Act for divorce citing cruelty and desertion. The husband contests the allegations and seeks restitution of conjugal rights.

Task: Draft a Divorce Petition from the wife’s side and a Reply from the husband’s side.

PARTICIPANTS ARE FREE TO CREATE THEIR OWN FACTS, DATES, COURT NAME, PARTY NAME BASED UPON WHATEVER CATEGORY THEY CHOOSE.

• Last Date for Submission: 15th August 2025
• Result Declaration: 30th August 2025

Participation Fee

Rs 300 (Single Participation), Rs 500 (Dual Participation)

Mode of Registration

Participants are required to fill in the google form link provided below for the purpose of registration. The screenshot of the payment for registration should be attached in the google form in order to successfully complete the registration. Once registered successfully, a confirmation email will be sent within 24 hours.
