ABOUT THE WEBINAR

Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) has played a crucial role in the development of the socio-economic success of the country, over the past years. They have been under various modifications from time to time. There are enormous emerging trends under IPR in today’s world. Copyright, trademarks, patents, and trade secrets are few of them, and their knowledge is imperative, in order to compliment a person’s ability to Innovate. After all, Innovation comes with challenges and IPR helps in managing those challenges in an efficient manner.

Vidhi Parivartan’s Webinar on “Basics of IPR and emerging trends” aims to establish awareness related to IPR, to promote Innovation which is protected and Inventions which are valuable and in consonance with the emerging trends of the society.

A broad overview of major laws governing intellectual property protection (patent, trademark, copyright, design and confidential information) in India and recent trends pertaining to the same will be covered.

Mr. Hemant Thadhani, Practice Head (Intellectual Property) at M/s. Crawford Bayley & Co. Advocates and Solicitors

Mr. Hemant Thadhani is an Advocate and a registered Patent Attorney. He heads the intellectual property practice of M/s. Crawford Bayley & Co., which is one of India’s oldest and well-known law firms, with rich and well-endowed experience in several practice areas.

Sir handles a wide spectrum of commercial disputes, predominantly patent, trademark, copyright, design, cyber law, data protection and privacy law, media law, etc. before the Bombay High Court and other forums in India. He has to his credit immense experience of handling high profile clients, both national and international, across a wide range of business sectors, such as technology, telecommunication, media, pharmaceuticals, FMCG etc.

Academically, he holds a Master degree in Intellectual Property & Technology Law from Queensland University of Technology, Brisbane, Australia, which is offered in joint collaboration with the United Nations’ World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO); and a Bachelor degree in Science and Law from Gujarat National Law University, Gandhinagar, Gujarat, India.
